Situated in the centre of the bustling town of Whitby, you are ideally located for accessing a number of popular attractions, whilst also exploring the delightful Yorkshire coast. Home to some lovely Blue Flag beaches, the perfect spot for a romantic picnic on the golden sands, or taking the opportunity to learn a new skill such as surfing. If you’re feeling more adventurous, see if you can conquer the 199 steps, which lead up to the historic 7th century Whitby abbey, said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s ’Dracula’ and boasting a wealth of history.
Visit the historic Captain Cook Memorial Museum, hosting a range of exhibitions detailing Cook’s voyages and life. You can even sail out of the harbour on a replica of one of his ships. The town is incredibly proud of its seafaring heritage and you can still see the fishermen bringing home their freshly caught bounty, in fact the fish and chips in Whitby is regarded as some of the best in the world. There is an abundance of restaurants and café’s to choose from, some of them award winning, you are sure to be spoilt for choice. Beach ¼ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 180 yards.
