Extra Amenities

A great base for a traditional seaside holiday, The Arches is a spacious three bedroom apartment set on the first floor of an end-terrace house. The apartment boasts a small balcony with sea views, a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.
Located in a quiet area on the south cliff, just a short away from the shops, restaurants, bars and the beach. From the apartment you can walk down through the Italian Gardens to the Scarborough Spa and the seafront. Alternatively catch the cliff lift, the first funicular railway in Great Britain. Along the seafront there is a long marine drive, which is a great place for a leisurely walk with over 3 miles of flat walking.

The beach has areas where you can take your dog as well as dog-free areas, where the children can enjoy building sandcastles and playing in the sand. The traditional donkey rides are still very popular along with the candy floss stalls and amusements.
Scarborough has so much for all age groups from the Alpamare Waterpark, with its slides and wave pools, to the beautiful Peasholm Park where you can hire pedalos and rowing boats on the lake. Scarborough Open Air Theatre is one of the largest in Europe and hosts international acts throughout the summer. There is also the Stephen Joseph Theatre, home to most of Alan Ayckbourn’s premieres.

Scarborough is host to the yearly county cricket festival and you can spend a leisurely day watching cricket at its best.
The traditional seaside resorts of Filey and Flamborough Head are close by, and a 30-minute car journey north will take you to Whitby, home to the wonderful abbey which was the inspiration to Brahm Stoker’s book, Dracula.
From the stunning North York Moors National Park to the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, this apartment gives you a great base close to all these wonderful tourist attractions. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
