This lovely historic cottage offering self-catering accommodation that sleeps 4 is perfect for exploring the beautiful city of York and rural North Yorkshire. Situated only 20 minutes walk from the centre of York, the red brick cottage was part of Dringhouses village school dating from around 1852. Its Grade II listing reflects an abundance of character and original features.

This 2 bedroom cottage is close to York Racecourse, making it ideal for a weekend at the races. Also within easy reach is the National Railway Museum, and many excellent pubs and restaurants. A regular bus service runs every 10 minutes to York, or it is a 20 minute walk to the centre. Within its ancient city walls this beautiful city boasts the wonderful Minster Cathedral, the Yorvik Viking Centre, York Dungeon and a plethora of attractions, shops and pubs. The cottage has many great pubs/restaurants on its doorstep too - the Fox and Roman is a charming and traditional inn that offers great food in a family-friendly setting. This is a lovely family cottage that provides everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay in this beautiful part of Yorkshire.

This pretty red brick country cottage is immaculately presented with lots of original features such as oak beams and period fireplaces, the cottage has three rooms downstairs - a sitting room, dining room and well-equipped kitchen. In the sitting room a large comfortable sofa and loveseat, wooden floors, rugs and a Victorian fireplace along with a digital freesat TV and DVD/stereo, make this the place to curl up with your favourite film after a day exploring the Yorkshire countryside. The well equipped kitchen and light dining room with pretty wooden table and chairs provides plenty of space for preparing and enjoying family self-catering meals.

Upstairs wooden floors continue throughout the two bedrooms - a spacious double bedroom (with fireplace) and a lovely twin bedroom with 2 single beds. Both are fitted with cottage style beds, comfortable mattresses and quality bed linen (please bring your own towels). Also upstairs is a family bathroom, with bath and ample hot water. The cottage is centrally heated throughout and gas and electricity are included in the rental. Outside is private enclosed garden at the rear and parking for one car. The cottage faces onto Knavesmire, a large green area where York horse Races are held. Knavesmire Cottage is the ideal cottage for the perfect getaway in this beautiful part of Yorkshire.
