Turvelaws Holiday Cottage is situated on the working farm of Turvelaws. There is actually three cottages on site - useful for larger groups holidaying together:
The Dovecot (sleeps 8 – 10) The Smithy (sleeps 2 + cot) and Topsy Turvey (sleeps 4).
All cottages are fitted with eco friendly air source heating systems, therma fleece insulation and rain water harvesting units. They are all finished to a high specification providing beautiful and comfortable accommodation.

A 5 star two bedroom cottage situated in the Glendale Valley and with views of the Cheviot Hills, Topsy Turvey is one of three cottages for rent at Turvelaws, a working farm just beyond the pretty market town of Wooler, and on the fringes of the National Park. Topsy Turvey is a beautiful location for a country holiday - ideal for walking and cycling in the scenic Cheviot Hills and rolling countryside. The River Till runs through the farm offering trout and salmon fishing on your doorstep.

Guests also have use of a private tennis court and just 2 miles away is the Wooler 9 hole golf course, with an 18 hole course 12 miles on.

Northumberland is in the North Eastern corner of England - a wonderfully varied landscape of dramatic hills, sandy beaches and craggy coves, and bustling market towns. Wooler itself has a wide selection of shops, pubs and cafes.

Topsy Turvey is between the heritage towns of Berwick Upon Tweed and Alnwick, both 16 miles away, making it a central cottage from which to explore.

The cottage is within a 30 minute drive of Northumberland's beautiful Heritage coastline, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, The Farne Islands and the Scottish Borders.

Accommodation

This is a wonderful cottage for a family, friends or two couples that blends comfortable contemporary accommodation with a homely feel. Recently refurbished, with wooden flooring and state of the art eco-friendly under floor heating throughout, this is a cosy cottage in all weathers.

The cottage has a beautiful interior and an unusual layout, being upside down with living space on the first floor to make the most of the views. On the ground floor is a spacious hallway, with one double and one twin bedroom (which can also be made into a double, making this a good cottage for a group of friends or two couples). Both bedrooms have comfortable wooden beds, deep mattresses and crisp clean bed linen. Each has an en suite bathroom so there is no queuing for the shower in the morning! The ground floor also has a utility space with a washing machine and drying machine as well as a space to store walking clothes, boots or your fishing rod!

On the upper level is a spacious open plan kitchen dining living room. The kitchen has shaker style units, gas hob and electric oven, and is well equipped with all the cooking utensils you need. The kitchen has a large table providing ample dining space for 4 - a sociable place to chat while chef prepares a delicious meal! In the lounge, deep comfortable sofas and an armchair, make a lovely place from which to take in the beautiful view from. The kitchen has doors that lead out to steps into the self-contained garden - perfect for children or dogs to run around. Upstairs also has a small cloakroom.

What's included:

Bed Linen, towels, electricity. The cottages have a good supply of tourist information as well as OS maps of the area. Delicious homemade meals can be delivered to your cottage prior to arrival. For that special occasion a dinner party can be fully catered for enabling you to enjoy the ultimate evening at home. Check in day Saturday Check In 3.30pm and Check out 10am. Well behaved dogs welcome by prior arrangement. Please keep them off the furniture and out of the bedrooms and bathrooms

Topsy Turvey is situated on the Berwick Road (B6525) 1/2 a mile from the A697 and 10 miles from the A1. One hour’s drive North of Newcastle and 1 and 1/2 hours drive South of Edinburgh.
